I'm Freddie, 24 years old, a medical student and I enjoy photographing with an old SLR camera and film. Initially, the tactile feel and the low price at which you can acquire old cameras were reasons that drew me into the trend of analogue photography. Later, the challenge captivated me—understanding how photography actually works without autopilot and what it means to be truly responsible for the resulting photograph. You notice how we tend to tinker endlessly with our modern cameras, shooting the same image a hundred times over, whilst completely losing sight of the actual subject. With analogue photography, you pack the camera away after taking one or two shots and you're already looking forward to the resulting images, always ready to be surprised by the outcome.
