To be free,
to feel free.
Looking out onto the open sea, travelling alone, breathing deeply with eyes closed, doing what you love.
That's what I associate with freedom. Even if those are perhaps only mundane things, you're always as free as you feel.
And sometimes you have to claim your freedom for yourself.
The freedom to dress however you like, to say what you think or to make decisions that others perhaps wouldn't have made.
Skaters radiate a certain yearning for freedom to me. Always – literally – on the move, rolling and jumping through cities and parks in every spare minute, aware of the risks of what they're doing but certainly not restricted by them.
And as Snoop Dogg once said so aptly:
"that's how it's supposed to be – living young and wild and free"
