Dear readers

Alongside the seasonal change from winter to spring, there has also been a
small change in the editorial leadership. Karina left Sprachrohr with the completion of the last issue, so
from this issue onwards Milia is taking her place in the editorial leadership. In this
sense, we are also looking forward to continuing to share many interesting Sprachrohr issues with you!

The new semester has begun and with it spring as well. Whilst daffodils are blooming in the Ringpark between lockdowns and relaxations of restrictions, the first are already sunbathing
Relaxations in the Ringpark the daffodils are blooming, the first ones are already sunbathing between
between snowflakes and sleet showers on the Main. Especially now, at a time when we are waking up from winter gloom and realising how tired the coronavirus pandemic still makes us,
we are asking ourselves the questions: What will this semester bring? What will summer bring? And more generally
speaking: What does the future hold? We – for our part – do not know. Of course, that does not stop us
from dreaming, fantasising and hoping. These hopes and dreams influence
our vision of the future. And when we talk about them, they also influence how we
shape this future.
So how do we want to shape it? Is the future our inescapable fate or do we

have room to make of it exactly what we want? Finding a clear answer to that is not so easy.
This issue too is full of questions and answers of all kinds, whether in the category "Art and Literature" or "What Moves Us", our authors have once again written many thought-provoking articles
around the theme of future music. The term
future music can be interpreted and understood in various ways. According to the definition,
it describes things whose realisation is still a long way off and are regarded as utopian.
For some, the term certainly has a negative touch, that one should stop racking one's brains over things that will still be future music for a long time.
But for us, future music means much more, read for yourselves.
It is never too early to start certain projects, to pin down dreams or to raise important issues.
Future music is something inspiring that shows us where we want to go and what we
hope for from the actions of the present. We certainly cannot influence everything. But

perhaps that is not necessary either. Sometimes it is enough to tackle the small things in order to shake up the really big ones.
Much pleasure reading and discovering!
