From a politics and sociology student to an author. A career path that most can only dream of. For Philipp Heilgenthal, this dream comes true on 14.02.2022. With the publication of his novel "Erasmus for Life", he creates a guide for all future Erasmus students in a playful way. At the centre of the novel is Stefan, a 22-year-old business administration student, who flies to Bari for his Erasmus semester. He lands in a colourful shared flat
with 5 Erasmus students, who quickly become an important part of his experiences. From mountain bike tours, to crazy party nights, great love and one or two accidents and mishaps, a broad spectrum
of emotions is covered. This is exactly how the author also describes his Erasmus experience – an emotional rollercoaster, a true ups and downs of feelings. Through Thomas, Stefan's cousin who has himself had Erasmus experiences and thus serves as a role model for Stefan, the author skilfully incorporates a character who takes on the intended advisory function. A well-rounded affair, then, which ultimately even carries important life lessons within it.

The novel largely mirrors Philipp's own Erasmus experiences, which he was able to enjoy in Salamanca and Bologna. In addition, there are various lessons, tips and tricks that he acquired during his work in the university Erasmus organisation "WIN". As part of this university department, he still organises a variety of leisure programmes, projects for cultural exchange, as well as the occasional celebration – after all, that's how you get to know each other best. Philipp Heilgenthal is virtually an Erasmus expert. In his side job for Main Echo, he speaks in February 2020 with a young author who inspired him to pick up pen and paper himself and just start writing. Already on
the way home, his thoughts flood in, all revolving around his passion – Erasmus, as if it were fate. Thus the theme of his first novel is set. Then everything happens very quickly. Within 9 months the text is complete. With the help of
Königshaus Verlag, his book appears in the most diverse shops. The publication of the novel is of great importance to Philipp. He wanted to give something back to the world and make his readers laugh whilst simultaneously
fulfilling his lifelong dream of writing his own book. Furthermore, he wants to encourage others to take time, use it actively, try things out and fulfil their dreams. But Philipp's journey should not end here. He is already working on the next novel, whose theme we do not want to reveal here. This much we can say: the wait will be worth it!
