Intuition and chance are the cornerstones of my compositions. When I photograph analogue, I only make associative thoughts about what has been captured. I see. I capture it. Ultimately, the final result determines its significance. Yes, it's about more than visual abundance – is there content alongside aesthetics?
The pinnacle is the interplay of chance and intuition – the intuition at the moment of capture, the chance in the consequences when I reload the film. My original associations are either reinforced or rigorously altered. A magical surprise with every development. Finally, the finishing touch lies with the viewer: You – look closely! – who discovers something for your life in this frame – or perhaps not.
