7:25 a.m. – Whilst the flat mates peacefully sleep off the hangover from last night's party, one creeps quietly into the raw morning. After all, the Medical Chemistry lecture starts at 8:15 a.m., where active ingredients are diligently drawn. Anyone who wants to philosophise cleverly about the chemistry of a drug in the body at the next family gathering shouldn't miss this. Highly motivated and with plenty of caffeine in the blood, four more hours of lectures await – from biology to technology to pharmacology, nothing is missing. After all, the point of this degree is not to kill anyone and ideally to know a bit more about medicines.

Then it's off to the canteen quickly, because you can't fight on an empty stomach. By fight, we usually mean the laboratory, at least for the lucky ones (or also the suffering ones) who passed the entrance exam. Before the analysis fun begins, however, one must first submit to the scrutinising gaze of the assistants and prove that one also has a plan for the drugs and chemicals being worked with (another major fire in the lab probably wouldn't go down well…). Once the colloquium is passed, teamwork is required. Because only those who work together with their fellow sufferers can – after one or another bout of sweating – ideally end the day trembling as they enter the result of their analysis into the infamous green notebook.

Now it's time to pray, because only those who pass the laboratory are allowed to sit the final exam… fortunately, the good persuasion of the laboratory equipment usually pays off and one is allowed to leave the laboratory at 6 p.m. with a cool sticker in the notebook. But anyone who thinks the day is already over can rest assured, because after the laboratory comes before the laboratory… But in the end it's worth it! (Hopefully)
