About us
What is the Studi(o)bühne?
Studi(o)bühne aims to offer students in Würzburg the opportunity to pursue their hobby of theatre. To this end, it provides organisational framework conditions, whilst stuv assumes financial responsibility. In parallel, several groups typically rehearse their respective piece, which is later performed without admission on a donation basis. The participants of Studi(o)bühne assume, as far as possible, responsibility themselves for the organisation of their group and the content of the production.
Studi(o)bühne is in principle open to all interested parties – regardless of their prior experience. Experienced actors are just as welcome as newcomers who want to try themselves out on and behind the stage. The primary goal is that all involved have enjoyment in theatre and the collaborative work on the piece. The university theatre is primarily a student stage, although participation by students from the University of Applied Sciences or non-students is also possible.
Performances take place in the Mensa at the Studentenhaus (Stadtmensa), Am Studentenhaus 1, 97072 Würzburg – directly at the bus stop "Studentenhaus".
A Department of Student representation
Studi(o)bühne is a department of Universität Würzburg and, with its structures, a sub-organisation of the Student representation of the JMU. At least one person or a team serves as department head, responsible for the department, elected for one year by the Student Parliament and thereby democratically legitimised. The department head is supported by the organising team.
Membership is free: no membership fee, no admission process, no matriculation required – only being of legal age.
We are more than just a place for student theatre. We understand ourselves as a large, social bond that represents a safe haven, a kind of home for many of our members.
Preamble
Our Charter
The Studi(o)bühne Charter was established in 2023. It provides transparency in organisational processes, sets out clear structures and regulations – and is at the same time a position paper: we want to be a place for all people, however diverse and different they may be. The Student Parliament adopts the Charter and all of its amendments.
