Between the Walls

Political drama by Talia Klenk

Dates: Mon. 19th, Tue. 20th, Thu. 22nd and Fri. 23rd October 2026, each at 8 p.m.

The dystopian political drama follows the non-binary protagonist Seona through an increasingly radicalising society. Between personal refuges, public threat and moments of collective hope, a compelling portrait of queer identity emerges in times of societal regression.

Between the Walls by Talia Klenk poses the question of how much self-determination people are allowed to have before society begins to take it away from them again. The story unfolds over several years and revolves around fear, love, resistance – and the longing to be allowed to exist in peace.

Party for a Corpse

Crime play by Patrick Hamilton

Dates: Mon. 9th, Tue. 10th, Thu. 12th and Fri. 13th November 2026, each at 8 p.m.

Manhattan, 1940s

Obsessed with their seemingly intellectual superiority, Brandon and Philipp, two young ambitious students from Manhattan's upper class, strangle their fellow student David and hide him in a trunk.

The subsequent party is meant to be the crowning climax of their supposedly perfect crime. But as the murder victim's loved ones gather unknowingly around the same trunk, their concern grows for the missing David. His unknown whereabouts and some contradictory coincidences also attract the attention of Francis Cadell. The philosopher and former teacher of the students begins to suspect that the party is more than just an ordinary gathering of old acquaintances…

A dramatic chamber play, based on a true story, that shakes moral customs and values, transcends the theoretical boundaries of philosophy and psychology, and tears open human abysses.

The Neverending Story

Fairy-tale drama, based on the text by Michael Ende

Dates: Mon. 23rd, Tue. 24th, Thu. 26th and Fri. 27th November 2026, each at 8 p.m.

In the magical Phantásien, the "Nothing" threatens to devour everything, and only a human child can save the world. On his journey between reality and fantasy, Bastian encounters brave companions, dark powers and the question of his own identity. A poetic story about courage and hubris, self-discovery and the timeless power of imagination.

But when those few days have turned into eight weeks, not only Vanessa's friend but increasingly Vanessa herself is getting fed up with the unwanted visitors. They constantly criticise Vanessa and her lifestyle, allow annoying salespeople and her hated neighbour to come and go in her house, and to cap it all off, they're also casually planning to blow up her kitchen. And when a rat infestation, an exorcist and Vanessa's unwanted admirer are added to the mix, the situation threatens to descend completely and irrevocably into chaos.

Sensitive content and trigger warnings

Piece contents can be overwhelming, hurtful or (re)traumatising. That's why we'd like to offer you additional information that we classify as potential triggers and sensitive content. Triggers are specific stimuli that can reactivate the original trauma in people with a traumatic history (e.g. flashback).

Triggers are perceived individually and are directly linked to one's own experiences and perception of reality. We endeavour to always show consideration for the wellbeing of our audience, even though unfortunately not all personal warnings can always be reflected. We therefore leave it to you to decide whether you wish to read and consider this additional information, and we do not announce it before performances.

The notes on the individual pieces of the winter season will be added here no later than one week before performances begin. If you have any remarks, questions or uncertainties, you can contact us at any time at stuv-studiobuehne@uni-wuerzburg.de .
