Unicup 2027 takes place on Saturday, 5 June 2027, at the sports centre at Hubland in Würzburg. In previous years, things got underway at 11 o'clock with meet-up and registration, with the first match kicked off at 12 o'clock. The exact timetable will be published in good time – see The tournament.
Of course, everyone is warmly welcome at Unicup. What awaits you besides football can be found under Supporting programme.
No, entry is free for spectators.
Every student and member of staff can register for the tournament. This applies to Universität Würzburg, the Technische Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt and the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg.
Of course, all staff at the university are welcome to register a team.
This is not a problem at all, as the idea of the event is to bring students from a wide variety of degree programmes into contact with one another. For this reason, there will also be "open teams". So you can simply register on your own and you will automatically be assigned to a team.
The idea of the tournament is to integrate everyone. That's why you can of course take part in the tournament without extensive football experience. The fun is the main focus here. We look forward to everyone who takes part in the Unicup.
On the pitch there are seven players per team: six outfield players and one goalkeeper. At least two FLINTA* must be on the team, and one FLINTA* must always be playing on the pitch. Substitute players are unlimited; there is no upper limit on the number of players. Late registration of players may be possible under certain circumstances.
Registration for Unicup 2027 opens in good time before the tournament – we will inform you here on the page and via stuv's channels. During registration we will ask you for some information about you and your team (e.g. your names and how we can contact you). The participation fee and payment method will be announced with the registration.
The tournament is limited to 32 teams. "First come, first served!" Once 32 teams have registered, we will close registration for the time being. If you and your team don't get a place, be patient – you might still get in through the waiting list procedure.
To organise the event, a one-time fee per person is required to participate in the tournament. This covers fixed costs incurred for organising and running the event. Included are participation in the tournament, complimentary water on site, prizes and surprises. The fee amount for 2027 will be announced with registration.
The Hubland Sports Centre provides two changing facilities. These include showers and toilets, amongst other things.
We recommend that you bring your own pair of trainers – metal studs are prohibited – and possibly shin guards. The sports clothing (shirt, shorts, etc.) is to be organised by your team. We recommend equipping the team with colour-coordinated clothing. In the event that two teams have the same colour, bibs are available.
There will be a wide range of offerings with various food and drink stations, ensuring that everyone's culinary needs will be well catered for.
We are looking for many volunteers every year to support us with a wide variety of tasks – in the organisation and on the day of the event. You can find all areas under Get involved.
We are delighted that you would like to become a sponsor or partner of Unicup. You will find information on how to proceed at Partner and Sponsoring.
No, the event is organised purely on a voluntary basis and aims only to bring you together. Any profits go to the Student representation of the Universität Würzburg.
Absolutely! International students are expressly welcome at Unicup – the tournament is a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world through football. If you need help with registration, write to us at stuv-unicup@uni-wuerzburg.de.
