Unicup since 2023

The first Unicup took place on 10 June 2023 at the Sports Centre at Hubland – organised by students who wanted an event where the whole university could come together after the coronavirus period. The premiere alone brought 32 teams, 332 participating students and over 1,500 spectators to the pitch, plus a live concert with six acts.

Since then, Unicup has become a fixture in the Würzburg early summer: the premiere was followed by editions on 25 May 2024, 24 May 2025 and 23 May 2026. The next round starts on 5 June 2027.

The editions so far

On 10 June 2023, the first Unicup kicked off: 32 teams, 332 participating students, over 1,500 spectators. After the tournament, the Würzburg pub choir, Slink, Nils Frederik, Stella Beez, Darlings on Drugs and MyRoue performed on stage.

On 25 May 2024, the second edition took place at the sports centre at Hubland – with tournament, stage programme and public viewing in the evening.

At the third Unicup on 24 May 2025, the music came from DJs: Phiesling opened at midday, followed by Lousy Ones, Chemix and Manu:Ment, with Benjamin Voltage as the main act in the evening.

On 23 May 2026, the fourth Unicup took place. The 32 team places were allocated within five minutes of registration opening; individual registrations remained possible thereafter.
