AI in Studies and Teaching
AI is changing how you learn, write and are assessed. The Department of AI in Studies and Teaching advocates for students from all disciplines to have a say. It wants you to be able to use AI meaningfully as a learning aid and for critical questions not to be overlooked.
The Student Parliament founded the department in June 2025. It is one of the Departments of the SSR and seeks exchange with the ZBL, the computing centre and the library. All students can participate.

What we do
Exchange between students and lecturers
We bring together students and lecturers from all disciplines to discuss AI in studies and teaching.
Networking AI tutors
AI tutors are students who support lecturers in using AI. We connect them with each other.
Surveys on AI in studies
We survey where and how AI-supported learning environments are used at the university.
Developing recommendations
We develop recommendations for the use of AI tools at the university and bring the perspective of students into committees and study planning.
Critical examination
Data protection, ethics, environment, media literacy: We discuss what makes AI-supported learning and teaching responsible.
More on AI at the university
Whether you are permitted to use AI in an examination is not the same everywhere. Depending on the examination, AI may be excluded, limited or openly permitted. If in doubt, clarify this beforehand with your lecturer.
