Student Parliament (StuPa)
The Student Parliament (StuPa) is the highest body of student representation. Here, 42 elected students decide what stuv stands for, how it spends its money and which Departments of the SSR exist. The meetings are open to the university public: You can come along, join in the discussion and submit proposals.
What the StuPa does
Positions
It decides what stuv stands for and which positions it takes, for example on the semester ticket.
Budget
It decides the budget, that is, how stuv's funds are spent.
Student referendum
With a two-thirds majority, it can initiate a student referendum. Then all students vote on a yes-or-no question.
Who sits in the StuPa
Seats | Who | How they get into the Student Parliament |
|---|---|---|
20 | Representatives of university groups | directly elected at the university election, via lists |
20 | Members of the Student Faculty Council, two per faculty | via the Faculty Student Representation |
2 | student senators | directly elected at the university election, member ex officio |
The term of office is one year and runs from 1 October to 30 September.
How a meeting runs
The StuPa meets at least twice per semester, the first time no later than the second week of lectures.
The invitation with agenda arrives at least one week in advance. Proposals must be submitted no later than three days before the meeting; after that you can view all proposals.
You are welcome to listen and participate in discussions. Only elections, personnel matters and individual items decided by the StuPa are not open to the public.
The minutes are available to the university public once they have been approved at the next meeting.
The Chair invites all students to a public information event. There the SSR reports on its work, and you can ask questions.
Do you want to change something? Submit a proposal.
All students at Uni Würzburg can submit proposals and nominate people for elections.

Committees prepare resolutions. The Committee for Basic Regulations and Rules of Procedure (short GOGO) has existed since 19.10.2022 and continues to work in 2026/27. It prepares amendments to the Basic Regulations and Rules of Procedure of the StuPa.
Parts of the committee also sit in a focus group for ASPO/LASPO revision.
Minutes and resolutions
Invitations, proposals and minutes of the current and previous term of office can be found under Minutes, once you have logged in with your sNumber/university user name. All resolutions are permanently available in the Resolution collection. Older documents can be obtained on request from the Secretariat. The rules under which the StuPa operates are set out under Tasks and legal basis.
